The trend:research institute for trend and market research, GmbH (limited liability company), is an internationally expanding institute that plays a leading role in transforming markets, especially currently liberalising, deregulating and converging branches of trade (energy supply, water supply, waste/disposal, local public transport, community health, telecommunication etc.). trend:research was founded in 1997 on the figurative eve of liberalisation of the energy market by market research and industry experts. The institute serves national and international customers who already represent more than 90 percent of the German energy market - cf. trend:research">references.

trend:research consists of an interdisciplinary team that is composed out of engineers, economic, social and environmental scientists, economists, psychologists, lawyers, documentation officers, political scientists, geographers and further faculties. Since the foundation, the institute has grown organically and continuously. The number of staff members gradually increased in relation to the available multi-client-studies from two to over 50 members by now.
